What we fix

Common Audi problems we handle in Austin

Cooling system plastics in Texas heat

Audis route coolant through plastic flanges, housings, and expansion tanks that turn brittle with age — and Austin summers accelerate it. On the 2.0T engines that power most Q5s, A4s, and A3s, the water pump and thermostat module is a well-documented leak point. A low-coolant warning or a sweet smell after parking is the early sign. We pressure test to find the actual leak and replace the failed part in your driveway, with coolant to the correct spec.

Ignition coils and misfires

Coil pack failures have been an Audi pattern for two decades of turbo four-cylinders — a sudden single-cylinder misfire, a flashing check-engine light, a car that runs rough cold. We diagnose which cylinder is actually missing, test rather than guess, and replace coils and plugs on-site. On a higher-mileage engine it often makes sense to do the full set while we're there; we'll give you both numbers.

Brakes with electronic parking brakes and wear sensors

Rear brake service on most modern Audis requires a scan tool to retract the electronic parking brake before the pads come off — skip that step and you damage the caliper motors. Audi brakes also run wear sensors that trip a dash warning. We do the job properly: EPB service mode, new pads and rotors as measured, new sensors, and the system reset.

Batteries, charging, and AC

Austin heat kills batteries in three to four summers regardless of badge, and an Audi with a weak battery gets strange before it gets stranded — warnings, resets, electronics misbehaving. We test, then fit and code the correct battery where the car requires it. AC-wise, we carry both R-134a and R-1234yf, leak-test before recharging, and replace compressors, condensers, and blower motors on-site.

The service menu

Audi services we do at your home or office

AC — recharge (R-134a and R-1234yf), compressor, condenser, blower motor

Brakes — pads, rotors, wear sensors, fluid flush, with proper electronic parking brake service

Charging system — battery fitted and coded where required, alternator, starter

Suspension — control arms, bushings, tie rods, sway bar links, shocks and struts (conventional)

Cooling system — water pump and thermostat module, flanges, expansion tank, radiator, hoses, coolant to spec

Engine service — spark plugs, ignition coils, sensors, belts, oil service with the correct VW/Audi spec oil

Diagnostics — VW/Audi-family fault codes beyond generic OBD, with a written report

Pre-purchase inspection — the repair history matters more on a German car; we read it

For major internal work — head gaskets, timing jobs, exhaust, and internal engine or transmission repair — we'll refer you to a shop equipped for it.

Pricing

Upfront flat-rate quotes

Upfront flat-rate quotes before any work begins — you approve the total price, not an hourly meter. Our European labor rate applies to Audi work — the specialty tools, spec fluids, and coding equipment these vehicles require are part of the job. Either way, the quote comes first and the total doesn't move after you approve it. No shop overhead, no waiting room, no shuttle.

What customers say

He showed up quickly, checked out my car, and figured out the problem right away. It turned out to be a throttle body issue, and he explained everything clearly and shared a detailed report with fair, reasonable pricing.

Questions

Common questions about mobile Audi repair

How much does mobile Audi repair cost in Austin?

Our European labor rate applies to Audi work, and every job is an upfront flat-rate quote — you approve the total price before any work begins, not an hourly meter.

Do you use the right oil and coolant for an Audi?

Yes — VW/Audi-spec oil and the correct coolant, not whatever's on the shelf. Spec fluids matter on these engines and we treat that as non-negotiable.

Can you do rear brakes on a car with an electronic parking brake?

Yes. We put the EPB in service mode with a scan tool before touching the calipers, replace pads, rotors, and wear sensors as needed, and reset the system after — the way it's supposed to be done.

Can every Audi repair be done mobile?

The high-frequency work — brakes, cooling, batteries, coils, AC, suspension wear items, diagnostics — is accessible and we do it on-site. For major internal work — head gaskets, timing jobs, exhaust, and internal engine or transmission repair — we'll refer you to a shop equipped for it.

What Audi models do you service?

Q3, Q5, Q7, A3, A4, A5, A6, allroad, and TT. If you have something less common, ask — the accessible systems are largely shared.

Can you come today?

Often, yes. Call (512) 910-5935 or book at acmeautoworks.com/book — Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, home or office.
