FAQ · Austin, TX

Straight answers,
no shop-speak.

Everything people actually ask about mobile mechanic service in Austin — how it works, what it costs, what we fix, and where we go.

Our warranty

3-year / 36,000-mile warranty on most repairs.

Triple the industry-standard 12-month/12,000-mile coverage. Some individual parts carry a manufacturer warranty of 1 year — we'll always tell you upfront which coverage applies to your specific job.

How it works

Do you actually come to me?

Yes — that's the whole business. Home, office, apartment lot, jobsite, or the seller's driveway for an inspection. We serve Austin and the west suburbs: Westlake, Rollingwood, Tarrytown, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Cedar Park, South Austin, and central, east, and north Austin.

Can a mechanic really fix my car in a driveway?

Most of what actually fails on a vehicle — brakes, AC, cooling, charging, suspension, ignition, sensors — is accessible work we do on-site with professional equipment. For major internal work like head gaskets, timing jobs, exhaust, or internal engine and transmission repair, we'll diagnose it honestly and refer you to a shop equipped for it.

Do I need to be home during the repair?

Not necessarily. Many customers leave the vehicle accessible and go about their day — we confirm the key handoff and parking details when you book, and you approve everything by phone or text before work begins.

How fast can you come?

Often same day. We schedule Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. Call (512) 910-5935 or book online and we'll confirm within two hours during business hours.

What happens after I book?

We confirm your appointment within two hours during business hours, quote the job as an upfront flat rate you approve, and arrive with the parts and tools for your specific vehicle. Most jobs are finished in one visit.

What if it rains?

Most repairs can happen under a garage, carport, or covered spot. When Texas weather makes safe work impossible, we reschedule — tell us the parking situation when you book and we'll plan around the forecast.

Do you work weekends?

Our schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. If you're in a bind, call — we'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Pricing & warranty

What warranty do you offer?

3-year / 36,000-mile warranty on most repairs. That's triple the industry-standard 12-month/12,000-mile coverage. Some individual parts carry a manufacturer warranty of 1 year — we'll always tell you upfront which coverage applies to your specific job.

How much does a mobile mechanic cost in Austin?

We give you an upfront flat-rate quote before any work begins — you approve the total price, parts and labor included, not an hourly meter. Describe the vehicle and symptom when you book and the number comes before the wrenches.

Is a mobile mechanic cheaper than a shop?

For equivalent work, we're generally in line with a good independent shop and below the dealer — no building, waiting room, or shuttle fleet baked into the price. The bigger saving is your day: no drop-off, no ride-arranging, no pickup.

How much does mobile AC repair cost in Austin?

It depends on what's actually wrong — a recharge is a different job than a compressor. We leak-test before recharging anything, then quote the real fix as a flat rate you approve first. Most AC repairs are done in one visit.

How do I pay?

We accept cards, cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Apple Cash.

Do European cars cost more?

European vehicles bill at our European labor rate — the specialty tools, spec fluids, and coding equipment they require are part of the job. Every job is still an upfront flat-rate quote you approve before work begins.

What we fix

What can a mobile mechanic fix?

AC (recharge, compressors, condensers, blend doors), brakes, cooling systems (water pumps, thermostats, radiators), charging (batteries, alternators, starters), suspension and steering, spark plugs and coils, sensors, oil service, diagnostics with a written report, and pre-purchase inspections.

What can't be fixed mobile?

Major internal work — head gaskets, timing jobs, exhaust, and internal engine or transmission repair — needs a shop lift and a controlled environment. If your vehicle needs one of those, we'll diagnose it, tell you straight, and tell you exactly what to ask a shop for.

Can you fix a car that won't start?

Yes — this is exactly what mobile service is for. No tow truck needed: we test the battery, starter, and charging system where the car sits and usually fix it on the spot.

Can you fix my car's AC at my house?

Yes. We carry both R-134a and R-1234yf refrigerant, leak-test before recharging, and replace compressors, condensers, blend door actuators, and blower motors in your driveway.

Do you do brake jobs in a driveway?

Every week. We measure the pads and rotors, quote a flat price for what's actually needed, and do pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, and fluid flushes on-site — from compacts to one-ton trucks.

Do you do oil changes?

Yes, with oil to your manufacturer's spec — which matters on European engines especially. Oil service is often bundled with other work, but we'll come out for it on its own too.

Can I get just a diagnostic?

Yes. We read module-level fault codes beyond generic OBD, tell you what's actually causing the problem, and give you a written report you keep — take it to anyone, including us.

Do you do pre-purchase inspections?

Yes — we come to wherever the car is, usually the seller's location, inspect it end to end, and give you a written report with findings and cost estimates before you hand over money.

Vehicles we service

What makes do you service?

Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Dodge and Ram, Jeep, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, MINI, and BMW — each with its own dedicated service page — and most other makes too. If you drive something unusual, just ask.

Do you work on European cars?

Yes — BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, and MINI, with spec-correct fluids, battery registration where the car requires it, and electronic-parking-brake-correct brake service. Our European labor rate applies, always as an upfront flat quote.

Do you work on trucks — F-250s, Ram 2500s?

Yes. We carry jacks and stands rated for 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks. Brakes, front ends, batteries, and cooling on heavy trucks are regular work, at driveways and jobsites alike.

Do you work on hybrids?

For standard work, yes — brakes, suspension, 12-volt batteries, AC, and inspections. High-voltage traction battery and inverter work belongs with a hybrid specialist, and we'll tell you straight if that's what your car needs.

Is my high-mileage car worth fixing?

Usually, yes — an alternator or water pump costs a fraction of a replacement car, and those are exactly the repairs that buy another 50,000 miles. We give you an honest read either way; if a repair doesn't make sense, we say so.

Where we work

What areas do you serve?

Austin and the west suburbs: Westlake, Rollingwood, Tarrytown, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Cedar Park, South Austin, and central, east, and north Austin. Enter your zip when you book — if you're just outside the line, call and we'll tell you honestly.

Can you work at my office or apartment complex?

Yes — office lots and apartment parking are everyday locations for us. All we need is a reasonably level spot to set jacks and stands safely. Mention the parking situation when you book.

Can you work on a car parked on the street?

Usually. Curbside work is fine for most jobs as long as the spot is reasonably level and safe to work in. We do it all over Austin's older neighborhoods.

How do I choose a mobile mechanic in Austin?

Look for real reviews (we have 65 on Google at 5.0 stars), a real warranty (ours is 3 years/36,000 miles on most repairs), upfront pricing you approve before work begins, and someone honest about what can't be done mobile. Judge us — and anyone else — by exactly those.
